Springboard “aims to support the development of sustainable communities where people have the skills needed for work and life”. Springboard is a Training & Employment organisation for adult learners without education, employment or previous training experience. Springboard is using Signal as an in-depth assessment tool to help staff and learners to work together to identify and remove barriers to learning and progression towards employment.
Citizens Advice Newcastle
Citizens Advice Newcastle (CAN) “help people resolve their legal, money and other problems by providing free, independent and confidential advice, and by influencing policymakers”. CAN has introduced Signal to people with complex needs (for example mental health issues and in fuel poverty). Signal enables CAN to have an in-depth conversation with their clients and to work on responses to areas of deficit. For example, as a result of being able to provide evidence of poor dental hygiene, CAN, in partnership with the NHS Dental Hospital are now running ‘pop-up’ dental check-up sessions in Newcastle Central Library.
YMCA Newcastle “believe that every young person should be able to develop their full potential in body, mind and spirit”. YMCA Newcastle has used Signal to better understand “youth in crisis”. This has enabled young people leading chaotic and unstable lives to reflect on what their immediate priorities are and this has helped staff at the YMCA to identify and implement responses to build stability and a stronger platform for future progress.
